If you're already establishing yourself in a work from home endeavor than you are well on your way to enjoying all of the benefits of your new job. Having the freedom to make as much money as your can and spend your time however you wish is a great gift. By now you are figuring out that you, and nobody else, is completely in charge of managing your own time.

While many people say they do not plan on retiring, the prospect of having time to travel, garden or simply get up late every morning is tempting. Retirees moving from a busy career and organizationally-based routine may think that they are uniquely equipped to manage themselves. But if they have never telecommuted or run their own business before, they may find a need to manage their time better.

Working around the clock is a common problem for people who begin working from their house or apartment. If the new job you are performing requires that you learn a new skill, you've probably found yourself working late hours trying to ramp up and gain speed on what you're now doing. Likewise if you're receiving money in exchange for production, such as blogging for hire or social-networking for hire, then you have probably felt forced to work longer hours than you originally anticipated.

Many retirees may find that their grown children now think that they'll have endless hours to entertain grandchildren. If you'll be hosting the grand kids throughout your workday, then you'll be approaching your time much as a stay-at-home working parent does. You'll need to work around the various activities and schedules of the children.

A retired spouse may already have plans for your time too. So it's best to make sure the entire family understands that 'retirement' at your house will include work-time and play-time. Your friends who have already retired before you are probably eager to get you out on the golf course or may also want to 'take up your time' more than you ever could have imagined.

Finding the time to balance family and work from home can evolve into something less than a dream. Knowing how and when to plan your work time from social and family time will make all the difference in whether you experience succeeds and eventually exceeds your own expectations.
