Home Business - The State of The Market

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

1. You Must Attract Your Market

The hard-sell days are no more for the home business owner. It is clear that customers do not want to feel pressured into making a purchase anymore, and will completely dismiss you if you try and implement this tactic. To succeed in attraction marketing, you must understand the psychology behind personal attraction. People like to partner or buy from leaders and authority figures. We all want to be the "hunted" not the "hunter".

2. Do Not Simply Sell Your Home Business

People tend to buy from those who they actually like and trust. Therefore, it is extremely important that you build a relationship with your prospects, telling them all about yourself, and who you really are. Blogging and videos are a great way for people to connect with you and almost get to the stage where they feel they know you personally. Over time, it is important to provide them with value. You need to share your knowledge and expertise, offer free reports, eBooks, tips and ideas. This will build your relationship. Thus, when they are ready to purchase what you are promoting, they will trust you and buy from you.

3. A Good Mentor Is Essential

If you work with a good mentor, you will find your path a lot easier, faster, and more enjoyable. They have taken the same steps as you are about to, they have discovered the pitfalls, and have found the shortcuts. A mentor will have valuable experience and knowledge to share with you. It is also important that you can relate to that person. You must feel they are going to give you the help that you need, and will continue that relationship as you progress. We all need higher levels of support at the beginning, as the learning curve is steep, and can sometimes be overwhelming. In these early stages, your mind can become blurred with all that you need to accomplish. A good mentor will have strategies in place, and recognize that everyone learns quite differently, brings different skill sets, and learns at a different pace. By breaking the learning process down into manageable increments, it is far easier for you to set goals, follow through, and start seeing results. It is paramount to keep motivated, be persistent, and remain consistent over time. If you do this, your home business success will soon follow.

Work From Home - Google Caffeine Can Be Mean

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Attention all work from home entrepreneurs. Faster loading websites may now have an advantage over slower sites in competing for search engine rankings. One of the most important elements to implement for the Google Caffeine update is making your website load quicker.

Best practice studies have shown that web page load times can be improved by following these guidelines. The list below includes some performance issues that can affect page load time.

Minimize HTTP Requests - Front-end downloading of page components, such as, images, style sheets, scripts, or Flash, can use up to 90% of end user response time.

Reduce Number of DNS Lookups - Hostnames are used in a page URL, images, script files, style sheets, Flash objects, etc. Reducing the number of hostnames reduces the DNS lookups.

Use a Content Delivery Network - A content delivery network is a collection of web servers distributed across multiple locations to deliver content more efficiently to users.

Add an Expires or a Cache-Control Header - These headers increase the number of components that are cached by the browser to make subsequent page views faster.

Use Gzip Components - File compression can be an easy way to accelerate page load times by reducing page weight and the size of the HTTP response.

Place Style Sheets at the Top - Moving style sheets to the document HEAD makes pages appear to be loading faster, because it allows the pages to render progressively in the browser.

Place Scripts at the Bottom - If possible, putting scripts at the bottom of pages can increase page load speed, because scripts can block parallel downloads.

Avoid Using CSS Expressions - These properties can slow down a page because they are evaluated by the browser when rendered, resized, scrolled, or with mouse movements.

Make JavaScript and CSS External - One technique is to inline JavaScript and CSS in the front page, but dynamically down load the external files after the page has finished loading.

Home Business - Unlike Re-Gifting Re-Tweeting Is Acceptable

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Thinking about getting your tweets spread even further and increasing the expectation of meeting even more people by using 're-tweets'.

Re-tweeting is a common process on Twitter where you are able to re-post someone else's tweet that you like, and you think your followers will like.

With this approach, you take the original twitter message another person has posted, and rebroadcast that same message to your followers. To do a re-tweet, simply type in RT at the start of your tweet and then an @ before the initial tweeters username followed by their original tweet.

Now Twitter will let you click the "Retweet Button" on the Twitter web site which will set up the re-tweet task automatically.

Reasons To Re-Tweet:

When broadcasting the message, you should certainly give credit to the original poster in the way I highlighted you above. I know at first it may sound like this will only be good for the initial tweeter, but re-tweeting can actually help you just as much if not more because;

1. It supplies more benefit to your followers.

When you provide value to your followers, you make them happy! You are also more likely to attract followers. Providing quality content is always a great way to build your internet business no matter what platform you use.

2. It will benefit your brand.

If you point a reader to a source if good information and facts that is truly applicable and good for them, the amount of trust that they have in you will multiply.

3. It will help you build relationships with the original posters.

Re-tweeting someone else's content is an act of kindness, and for the most part bloggers like to return the favor. You shouldn't expect someone to re-tweet your content just because you re-tweet theirs. Just keep in mind that your probability of being on the other end of a re-tweet increases as you re-tweet.

Work From Home - Take Advantage of Keyword Sniping

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Many people are looking for the fastest and cheapest way to make money at home online, and the most efficient way to achieve SEO optimization. The best way - known as "Keyword Targeting" and sometimes referred to as "Keyword Sniping", is misunderstood.

Keyword targeting involves using keyword phrases of three or more words - called "long tail keywords" - to target the subject matter of the product being sold.

Yet many people also misunderstand how the term "long tail keywords" got its name. The name didn't come from the fact that the phrases are long. It comes from a graph of search volume against phrase popularity.

Imagine a simple graph of search volume (low to high) on the vertical scale, and phrase popularity (high to low) on the horizontal. On that scale, broad, popular keywords that are one or two word phrases would have both high popularity and high search volume (and also MASSIVE competition). On the other hand, very narrow, specific multi-word phrases would have lower popularity and search volume - and of course, lower competition.

For example, the phrase "weight loss" is extremely broad and popular. But with 347 million competitors, it would be impossible to rank on the first page of Google. If you lengthen the phrase, though, the competition goes down dramatically. For example, the phrase "weight loss after pregnancy" has just over forty-thousand competitors as of this date, however the phrase "weight loss programs after pregnancy" has only eight competitors right now.

If you were to place this trend on our imaginary graph, you would find that the broad, popular one or two word phrases would be at the very top. You would then see a very steep "suicide ski jump" type curved slope come down as the keyword phrases become narrower and more focused.

The name "long tail" comes from the position of these longer, more specific keyword phrases on the long tail of the graph. These phrases are far more numerous than the short, broad ones, and they each have far less competition. That's why they are absolutely necessary for any success in making money fast on the Internet.
